【Introduction】:Between March 25 and 29, 2017, WTCF and its city member Penang will jointly hold the WTCF Asia Pacific Tourism Conference. Zhu Shanzhong, Executive Director at UNWTO is confirmed to attend the conference.
Between March 25 and 29, 2017, WTCF and its city member, Penang in Malaysia, will jointly hold the WTCF Asia Pacific Tourism Conference. It will be the first large regional conference that WTCF will hold in one of its member cities. The aim of the conference is to discuss the sustainable development of tourism cities in the Asia-Pacific region.

WTCF city and institutional members in the Asia-Pacific region, representatives of the tourism industry, media and other parties will be invited to attend the conference. Reputable experts and elites of the tourism industry will discuss and exchange ideas on popular and meaningful topics: City and Tourism Economy, Driving Force of Cultural Tourism to the Tourism Industry, Development of MICE Tourism, Development of Cruise Tourism and so on.

From 1989 to 2008, Mr. Zhu served CNTA in different capacities, namely as Director of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Sydney Office, Director of CNTA New York Office, Deputy Director-General of International Marketing Department and Director-General of the Marketing and Communication Department of CNTA.

From late 2008 to 2013, he was Vice Chairman of CNTA, overseeing international relations, marketing and promotions in domestic and overseas markets, tourism information center, tourism security and the establishment of a public service network. During his vice chairmanship, he also oversaw the composition and editing of key tourism documents such as the 12th Five-Year Plan of Tourism Information Construction.
