Tianzhu Chopsticks, made of the thin bamboos grown around the Tianzhu Mountain near the West Lake in Hangzhou, are famous for its practicability, high quality and reasonable price at home and abroad.

As early as in the Spring and Autumn Period, the farmers in Tiangzhu have made use of the local materials to make the chopsticks for eating. They found it suitable and the fragrance alluring, so the habit has been inherited. Until the Qing Dynasty, the farmers around Lingyin and Tianzhu began to make chopsticks with the thin bamboo and insert silver heads on them. They sold the chopsticks as goods which were popular among the numerous tourists, thus the famous Tianzhu Chopsticks emerged.

Nowadays, the process of Tianzhu Chopsticks have been improved continuously that the body of the chopsticks are made of thin solid bamboo, and are pressed with the characters or paintings, such as the landscape, flowers and birds and the scenery of the West Lake. Moreover, the chopsticks have two colors of red and white, and are decorated with the silver heads, spandrels, bones and pearl heads.
