Celebrate Two Years of Mobike This Earth Day : #RideForEarth

Did you know Mobike was born on Earth Day?

On April 22, 2016, the very first of our orange and silver cycles hit the streets, and the community of Mobikers that grew over the next two years have shared quite an amazing ride. Your commitment to making environmentally friendly transportation a part of our everyday lives has helped earn us recognition from the World Wildlife Fund and the United Nations Environment Program for advancing low carbon public transportation. Now we want to take it a step further.

To celebrate our incredible journey together, on Earth Day (April 22nd 2018), we are inviting Mobikers around the world to #RideForEarth and multiply your positive environmental impact from cycling.

By hopping on a Mobike instead of into a car, you are already helping keep cars off the road and harmful CO2 emissions out of the air, making a tangible difference in the fight against climate change. Now, together on Earth Day this year, we will make every ride count even more.

For every 100 km our global Mobikers collectively ride on April 22, Mobike will plant a tree.

We are partnering with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit that works with amazing reforestation organizations around the world that need financial support to help them get more trees in the ground. They will ensure that every Mobike tree gained when we #RideForEarth will reach reforestation projects around the world. Stay tuned for updates throughout the year as we continue working with One Tree Planted.

Our forests help regulate Earth's climate by regulating atmospheric gases, stabilizing rainfall, and protecting against desertification. Yet our forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate; deforestation currently accounts for 20% of global greenhouse gas emissions, so we are happy to be working with One Tree Planted to help reverse this damage.

To participate, all you need to do is ride Mobike on Earth Day! To help us rack up the kilometers and build momentum, you pledge your support to ride on our Facebook event and share your progress on social media using #RideForEarth.
