Hong Kong Airlines is celebrating the first anniversary of its Vancouver – Hong Kong service by partnering with the Make-A-Wish® Foundation, British Columbia & Yukon chapter. The airline will donate ten round-trip Economy Class tickets to eligible children represented by the charity.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organisation that grants life-changing wishes to children suffering from critical illnesses. Since its establishment in 1980, the organisation – through the help of donors and volunteers – has granted approximately nearly 450,000 wishes worldwide.
Hong Kong Airlines’ Vancouver service has proven to be a popular choice for Canadians and the airline is therefore looking to strengthen its commitment and reaffirm its ongoing involvement with the local community. The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s vision in granting the wishes of every eligible child is an admirable one, and Hong Kong Airlines is proud to be a part of something meaningful.
The ten round-trip Economy Class tickets that Hong Kong Airlines is donating to the cause will do just that, providing eligible children and their families with air travel to Asian destinations within the airline’s ever-expanding network. To provide greater flexibility to travellers, all tickets will be valid for travel throughout 2018 and 2019*.
Mr George Liu, Chief Marketing Officer of Hong Kong Airlines said: “Hong Kong Airlines’ partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation reaffirms our commitment to the Canadian market, as we celebrate the first anniversary of our Vancouver – Hong Kong service. We are delighted to contribute to the local community, in what we believe to be a very meaningful cause and help make the travel wishes of children come true.”
Ross Hetherington, CEO, Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon said: “It’s gratifying to know that Hong Kong Airlines, with its global presence, is still focused on helping at a local level. Approximately two-thirds of all our wishes involve travel; the generosity of Hong Kong airlines will help us extend our reach dramatically. This partnership is going to help some special wishes take flight, and we’re really excited about the possibilities.”
