With the theme of “Kanas Invites You to Celebrate an Original 2017 New Year Together,” this promotion seminar was aimed at presenting the most original and ancient folk lifestyle to everyone.

With the theme of “Kanas Invites You to Celebrate an Original 2017 New Year Together”, this promotion seminar, hosted by Kanas Scenic Area Administrative Committee and Air China and assisted by Pegasus Media, was aimed at presenting the most original and ancient folk lifestyle to everyone. Invited by Altay and Air China, WTCF’s members, World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) attended the promotion seminar.

At the seminar, Wang Yu, Committee Member of the Communist Party and Deputy Director of Kanas Scenic Area; Sun Jianjun, Chairman of Board, Pegasus Media; relevant representatives of Kanas tourism enterprises and Wei Jun, CEO of Xtrail, introduced the culture, natural views, tourism products, and reception services of Kanas from different angles and experiences. This gave attendees of the seminar more intuitive feelings about Kanas Scenic Area. At the same time, Kanas’s intangible cultural heritage Tsuur and Xinjiang’s folk song and dance performances were also presented at the promotion seminar.

As one of the important tourist source regions of Kanas, Beijing has been maintaining benign communication and cooperation with Xinjiang’s tourism industrial development. This promotion seminar has further raised the popularity and good reputation of Kanas tourism industry and also realized the objective of “resource sharing, mutual recommendation of tourist source, and win-win cooperation” between the two regions.

In 2016, Kanas Scenic Area received 1.413 million domestic and overseas tourists and the total revenue of its tourism industry reached 2.24 billion RMB. After many years of development and construction, Kanas has already become the top leader of Xinjiang’s tourism industry and has been granted the important mission of building up the “reception room” representing all of Xinjiang’s people.

During the Spring Festival, Altay’s Kanas Scenic Area Administrative Committee will send invitations with the theme of “Come to Kanas to Celebrate the Spring Festival, Visit Snow-Covered Hemu Village to Celebrate an Original 2017 New Year Together” to Beijing and other city’s residents. During this year’s winter, Kanas Scenic Area will build the tourism brand of “Kanas National Ice and Snow Park,” featuring the “Xun Lang Ji (A step into the lives of wolves)” activity which targets high-end consumers advocating “wolf” culture and the “Visit Snow-Covered Hemu Village to Celebrate an Original New Year” activity featuring Tuvan culture of Mongolia. In addition, Kanas scenic area has also launched many types of cultural, sports and recreational products, such as building of the “rime corridor,” Fairy Bay, Hukou Chenguang (morning views of the lake entrance) and other photography and sightseeing products in Kansas River Valley. Also self-drive tourism products were launched in Baihaba. Tourists can watch Guniangzhui (dating game on horseback for a young man and woman) in the Snow, Diaoyang (competing to grab sheep on horseback), horse racing and other featured performances, drink wine and coffee at the ice and snow bars and snow cabin cafes, experience ancient fur ski, real snow CS and zorb balls in the snow, and also explore great fun in sledges and snowmobiles. In the entertainment program AWESOME CHANLLENGE produced by Jiangsu Satellite TV (JSTV), to be broadcasted during the Spring Festival, Sha Yi and Joker’s splendid performances in Kanas will be featured. Let’s look forward to this.

It is understood that this tourism promotion is a positive attempt of Altay’s Kanas Scenic Area specially prepared for the Beijing market. The next step of Kanas scenic area is to launch more suitable tourism products for all tourists from Beijing concerning the characteristics of Beijing’s tourism market.

To strengthen the communication and member resource sharing between the members of WTCF, and better use the We-media platform of WTCF to provide the promotion of tourism resources, information release and other services, recently the independently developed database (first phase) of WTCF, i.e. Information Submitting System has been officially put into use, and Altay positively responded and first published and submitted rich tourism resource information. After editing and translating the information, WTCF published and promoted the information on all of its We-media platforms.
