Sanya in Indonesia to Seek Cooperation in Seafood Sector

On October 17th, 2018, a Sanya catering delegation consisting of representatives from the Sanya Seafood Association headed to Surabaya, Indonesia, to conduct a study tour of Surabaya’s seafood industry as well as to seek cooperation in seafood catering sector.

During the 7-day stay in Surabaya, Mr. Gu Jingqi, the Chinese Consulate-General in Sarabaya and Commercial Consul Wang Chun, welcomed the Sanya delegation.

A symposium on the Sanya seafood tourism products was held in Surabaya, during which representatives from the Sanya Seafood Association introduced seafood tourism resources. Both sides expressed their hope that further long-term seafood tourism cooperation could be achieved in the future.

It is learned that the Consul-General Gu Jingqi was used to serve as Vice Mayor of the Sanya Municipal People’s Government for three years. Mr. Gu was very familiar with the tourism market and seafood market in Sanya. During the talks, Mr. Gu said that Sanya should seize the opportunity to strength cooperation with Surabaya in the seafood supply sector. And the Chinese Consulate-General in Sarabaya will help build a bridge of cooperation in tourism and seafood industries to advance the mutual benefits for two regions.

The Sanya delegates said the seafood catering sector is a significant part of the city’s tourism industry. With a reputation for producing high quality seafood products, Sanya is seeking to expand the sales of its fresh aquaculture products into more international markets.
