【Introduction】:On April 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 63 new cases of confirmed infections (61 imported cases and 2 indigenous cases in Guangdong province), 17 new cases of suspected infections (16 imported cases and 1 indigenous case in Heilongjiang province), and 2 deaths (both in Hubei province).
On April 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 63 new cases of confirmed infections (61 imported cases and 2 indigenous cases in Guangdong province), 17 new cases of suspected infections (16 imported cases and 1 indigenous case in Heilongjiang province), and 2 deaths (both in Hubei province). 91 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,848 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 13.
As of 24:00 on April 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,103 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 374 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 729 confirmed cases (including 31 in serious condition) and 71 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 8, the National Health Commission had received 81,865 reports of confirmed cases and 3,335 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,370 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,160 confirmed cases (including 176 in serious condition) and 73 suspected cases. So far, 716,889 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 12,510 are now under medical observation.
On April 8, Hubei reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and 2 deaths (both in Wuhan). 45 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.
As of 24:00 on April 8, Hubei had reported 67,803 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,008 in Wuhan) and 3,215 deaths (including 2,574 in Wuhan). In all, 64,187 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 47,036 in Wuhan. There still remained 401 confirmed cases (including 398 in Wuhan), with 137 in serious condition (including 135 in Wuhan). There were no suspected cases.
On April 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 56 new asymptomatic cases (including 28 imported cases). 32 asymptomatic cases were freed from quarantine (including 7 imported cases) and 15 became confirmed cases (all are imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 8, 1,104 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 364 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 8, 1,384 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 960 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 264 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (10 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 379 in Taiwan (5 had been dead and 67 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
