【Introduction】:On Aug 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new cases of confirmed infections (5 imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 22 indigenous cases in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths.
On Aug 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new cases of confirmed infections (5 imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 22 indigenous cases in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 17 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 408 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Aug 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,103 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,007 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 96 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Aug 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 84,491 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 79,047 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 810 confirmed cases (including 36 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 794,165 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 23,018 were still under medical observation.
On Aug 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (including 10 imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Aug 4, 272 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 114 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Aug 4, 4,191 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 3,669 in Hong Kong (42 had died and 2,141 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 476 in Taiwan (7 had died and 441 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
