Although most of the scenic spots of Amsterdam are located in the downtown area, tourists can travel across the IJ River to the north bank of Amsterdam by using the free ferries with an operational history of over 100 years. The wharf is seated at the back of Central Station.

Route: Central Station-Buiksloterweg (about 5 minutes for the whole journey), Central Station-NDSM Wharf (about 14 minutes for the whole journey), Central Station- IJplein (about 5 minutes for the whole journey)

Canal Bus

The unique Canal Buses, operated by Canal, travel through the canal belt of Amsterdam. There are 4 routes in total and 20 wharves, all of which are available for embarking and disembarking. The ferries pass by many popular attractions such as Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Anne Frank House. The ferries provide tourism interpretation in many languages on the introduction of the Canal Belt in Amsterdam.

Service time: 9:30-19:25(there are subtle differences among the four routes)

Ticket price (online ticket purchase): €25 for the one-day through ticket, €22.5 for the 24-hour through ticket, and €31.5 for the 48-hour through ticket.
