【Introduction】:UnionPay International announced today that, Shoplus, the largest B2B e-commerce in Pakistan, is connected to UnionPay Cross-border B2B Payment Service Platform (hereinafter referred to as “UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform”).
UnionPay International announced today that, Shoplus, the largest B2B e-commerce in Pakistan, is connected to UnionPay Cross-border B2B Payment Service Platform (hereinafter referred to as “UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform”). After selecting commodities at Shoplus, Pakistan purchasers can complete payment with UnionPay cards via UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform, which changes the common practice of “Cash on Delivery” and facilitates trade between China and Pakistan against the background of the Belt and Road Initiative. Shoplus is also the first local e-commerce in Pakistan that has connected to UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform.
Since the Belt and Road Initiative is proposed, the B2B transaction between China and the relevant countries and regions grows rapidly, while China’s export maintains a double-digit annual growth. In the context, UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform is built to meet the demands of import and export enterprises such as global cross-border e-commerce companies and traditional trade companies, providing a range of services such as cross-border online payment, online payment collection, online foreign currency settlement and E-invoice order management.
UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform accepts UnionPay cards issued worldwide. After registration at and access to the UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform, both export e-commerce and traditional export companies in and outside mainland China are able to collect money paid by UnionPay cards online. Similarly, with a UnionPay card with online payment function, purchasers can pay easily at cross-border e-commerce and trade companies that accept UnionPay cards.
According to public data, over 90% of all the e-commerce in today’s Pakistan is done with Cash on Delivery. Shoplus is the only local B2B e-commerce that focuses on the trade between China and Pakistan. Now, by connecting to UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform, it provides local purchasers with an easier and safer payment choice to buy goods that are “Made in China”. This also facilitates the upgrade of the trade between Pakistan and other countries.
Besides Shoplus, a number of e-commerce and traditional export companies in mainland China have already connected to UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform. Purchasers in Central Asia, Pakistan and Southeast Asia have begun paying their orders through the platform. UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform is being recognized by the market. One of the reasons is that UnionPay cardholders outside mainland China are growing. In Pakistan, for example, almost all the local POS terminals and 80% of ATMs accept UnionPay cards, and more than 4.1 million UnionPay cards are issued locally. “UnionPay” has become the No.2 international bankcard brand in terms of cards issued.
To celebrate this business progress, UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform and Shoplus also jointly launched a marketing campaign: Prior to November 30, purchasers can enjoy discount up to 15% when paying with UnionPay cards issued outside mainland China to purchase goods at Shoplus and completing payment via UnionPay Cross-border B2B Platform.
