【Introduction】:The 2014 Shanghai International Marathon will be held on November 2.
The 2014 Shanghai International Marathon will be held on November 2, its organizers said yesterday.
As usual, in addition to the full 42.2-kilometer marathon, a 21k half-marathon, 10k fun run and 5k health run will be held on the same day to cater to runners of all abilities.
All of the races will start at Chen Yi Square on the Bund, with the full and half-marathons finishing at Shanghai Stadium in Xuhui District. The 10k run will end at Fuxing Park in Huangpu District, and the health run at Jing`an Sculpture Park.
The main event will have a limit of 8,000 runners, with quotas of 10,000 for the half-marathon, 7,000 for the 10k race and 10,000 for the 5k run.
The finish line for the health run was moved to the sculpture park to provide a more pleasant backdrop for the competitors, the organizers said.
All others seeking to compete in the full or half-marathon can apply from September 15-28, while those seeking to enter the 10k and 5k races can do so from September 17-28.
Anyone seeking to enter the event can do so via the official website at www.shmarathon.com or WeChat account at "shanghaimarathon." Runners should note, however, that the registration periods are different for each event.
