Tianmu Mountain

As the first of the mountains in the west of Zheijiang, the legendary Tianmu Mountain has always been praised as “wonderful mountain in regions south of the Yangtze River” and “The Tree Kingdom”. And it’s both one of World Biosphere Reserves and a national AAAA level scenic spot. As a primeval forest close to the city, it’s only 1-hour drive far from Hangzhou downtown, famous for its “magnificent trees”. And Tianmu Mountain is both the first mountain of ecological tourism of China and one of the ten well-known summer mountains. In addition, it’s the most distinguished tourist resort; and it’s a religious mountain that Zhang Daoling, one master of Taoism was born there. Tianmu Mountain, with its long history, has been a place where many celebrities including Li Bai and Su Dongpo have come to travel. Furthermore, Tianmu Mountain is the “national base of science popularization education” and “national base of youth science and technology education”; it’s also the practice base of science popularization for over 100 universities and colleges of China. Premier Zhou Enlai has made the anti-Japanese speech in Tianmu Mountain which has been the famous “Red Spot” and “National Patriotism Education Base”.
