【Introduction】:Carnival Corp CEO Arnold Donald said the company has requested permission for brands other than Fathom to sail to Cuba this fall

Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald said the company has requested permission for brands other than Fathom to sail to Cuba this fall.

Donald made the disclosure in a conference call to announce that Cuban-born travellers can now sail on Fathom’s voyages between the U.S and Cuba, beginning May 1.

Asked if other brands would be following, Donald said right now it is only Fathom’s Adonia that has clearance to dock at Cuban ports. He said over time other brands would be going to Cuba.

“Right now, the earliest it would be is in the fall, sometime in the fall. We’re hoping for that, and we’re requesting that,” he said.

Donald didn’t indicate for which brands Carnival Corp. is seeking permission to sail to Cuba. Carnival operates nine brands in addition to Fathom, the biggest of which are Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line.
