An increasing number of Ctrip's European customers (currently around 1/3) take Apple Pay as a payment method on the company's rail booking platform TrainPal, revealed Amy Wei, CEO of International Train Ticketing at Ctrip.
There are also other available payment options on TrainPal, like Visa, Master, American Express, Maestro and Diners Club. Ms. Wei added that the company will launch Paypal support soon.
Ms. Wei said that Ctrip is a one-stop platform, while TrainPal focuses on international train ticketing, which is a great supplement to other travel-related products on the Ctrip platform as general interest in "Train + X" tourism within China and abroad increases.
Ctrip first rolled out the "Train + X" tourism in September 2018, in the belief that the initiative will amount to 20% of China’s travel market by 2025. "Train + X" refers to travel packages that utilize train as transportation tool meanwhile book hotels, attraction tickets, or any other travel-related products.
