The Disneyland in Hong Kong has reached an agreement with Tencent to accept Wechat Pay at the resort, reports Chinanews.com.
Tourists no longer need to bring cash for eating, accommodations, playing and shopping at more than 280 sites in the resort, according to the report.
Wechat Pay is being accepted by an increasing number of local businesses in Hong Kong to serve the growing number of tourists from the mainland.
Statistics show that over 6.2 million tourists visited Disneyland in Hong Kong in fiscal 2017. More than one-third of them were from the Chinese mainland.
Those numbers are expected to continue rising, especially with the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.
