How do innovation, creativity, tourism and technology interrelate with space and the various groups that circulate in the urban environment?
The Seminar on Smart Cities and Smart Tourism Destinations is an invitation to discuss public policies and market initiatives focused on this theme. This pioneering seminar is open to all players in the tourism and technology production chain, from entrepreneurs to students, and brings together globally recognized names to participate in two days of lectures, panel discussions and workshops.

September 20 – Smart Cities
8h30 – Registration and welcome breakfast
9h – Official opening – Maria Fernades Caldas – Municipal Secretariat for Urban Policy
9h30 – “Urban Planning and Smart Cities” – Jorge Perez Jaramillo, responsible for the Territorial Organization Plan for Medellin (2014-2027), major contributor to the process of urban transformation which brought the city recognition as the most innovative in the world, in 2013.
10h30 – Panel “Smart Cities” – Mediation: Stella Hiroki, consultant focused on women’s participation in the development of smart cities. Participants: Jorge Perez Jaramillo; Thais Nahas, creator of the Urban Innovation Lab of Florianopolis and consultant at Intelink; and Braulio Magalhaes Fonseca, deputy head of the Cartopraphy Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
12h – Lunch
13:30 – 18:00 – Workshop conducted by Stella Hiroki – registered participants will be divided into 5 groups (Smart People, Smart Economy, Smart Governance, Smart Living, Smart Mobility and Smart Environment) to discuss projects based on their experiences and ideas to allow the application of technology in a more conscious manner in daily urban life.
September 21 – SMART TOURISM DESTINATIONS

9h30 – Lecture – “Certification of Smart Tourism Destinaions” – Federico de Arteaga Vidiella – Planning Director of the Grupo Jose Cuervo, Tequila, Mexico
10h30 – Panel “Smart Tourism Destinations” – Mediation: Danielle Fernandes Costa Machado – Coordinator of the Tourism Course at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Participants: Max Oliveira, cofounder and CEP of Maxmilhas and Federico de Arteaga Vidiella.
12h- Lunch
13:30 – 18:00 – Workshop conducted by Danielle Machado. The dynamics will address the subject of e-tourism and the innovations in marketing of smart tourism destinations.
