Representatives from the Buenos Aires City Tourist Board took part in the tourism showcase organised by the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agents (ANATO) in Bogotá.
Around 35,000 people attended the major Colombian trade fair between February 27 and March 1.
Highlights at the Argentine stand included the announcement of increased flight frequency between Bogotá and Buenos Aires.
Alongside Argentina’s Secretary for Tourism, Gustavo Santos, the airlines Aerolíneas Argentinas and Avianca announced increased weekly flight frequencies as part of an agreement made at the 2018 edition of the event.
Aerolíneas Argentinas will connect the two cities with a daily flight starting in April, while Avianca, is operating two flights per day, increasing the total number of direct flights between the two capitals to 21 flights every week.
Over the three days of the event, the city tourist board also held meetings with the most influential tourism operators in the host country and carried out destination training sessions with operators and travel agencies, highlighting new attractions in the city as well as the digital tools developed to improve tourist experience.
