The 39th Berlin Lange Nacht der Museen will be held in August

Berlin is the city of museums. People who come to visit Berlin must go to several museums to worth the trip. Whether it's history, culture, art, cars, technology or children, Berlin will find its soul mate.

In February 1997, 18 museums in Berlin came up with the idea of a night tour, attracting more than 6,000 visitors. In 2010, Forsa-Studie calculated that 93 percent of Berliners knew of Lange Nacht der Museen, meaning “night at the museum”. By 2012 Berlin was even hosting two activities a year. In 2017, the museum's "made in Berlin" theme attracted 32,000 visitors to celebrate its 20th birthday.

Now Lange Nacht der Museen is one of the most popular activities for Berlin museum lovers. Like the Berlin television tower or the Khudamer Strasse, it has become a Berlin specialty and spawned other species such as Botanische Nacht. Meanwhile, 120 cities around the world, including Paris, Amsterdam and Buenos Aires, have opened Lange Nacht der Museen.

In 2019, the 39th Berlin Lange Nacht der Museen will be held from 6pm on August 31 to 2am the following morning. In Berlin, nearly 80 museums, collections, archives and monuments will open at the same time, and in addition to the perennial and special exhibitions, there will be more than 800 special events organized for the sleepless night. There will also be a number of concerts, theatrical performances and other artistic performances, and visitors can enjoy various delicious food.

The traffic information

The activity will last from the evening until late at night. Visitors can take the special bus arranged by Berlin Bus Company for Lange Nacht der Museen during the long night and all the buses in the ABC district of Berlin with tickets.
