Nanjing Southern Coach Station
The construction of Nanjing South Station Transport Hub and South Station Coach Terminal began on May 7, 2010, with a total investment of about seven billion yuan.
The Terminal is the first in China to achieve seamless transportation and zero-distance transfers. Passengers taking the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu express passenger lines, Nanjing–Anqing Intercity Railway, Nanjing-Hangzhou railway and other train lines can experience seamless switching between railway and coach.
Located in the western side of the North Square and surrounded by the entire transportation hub, the Terminal provides a direct access to the railway station exit. At present, the initial construction includes the main building as well as the arrivals and departures hall.
The main building has three floors, including an underground one, and occupies a total area of about 18,400 square meters. Composed of 32 departure platforms, 16 arrival platforms and 32 layover platforms, the arrivals and departures hall occupies 12,100 square meters.
More than a hundred elevators will be installed to connect different transportation systems, making transfer more convenient for the passengers. As a category-1 terminal, it is designed to handle 20,000passengers every day, with a daily limit of 40,000passengers.
The station’s passenger flow will account for one quarter of the total volume of highway passenger transport.
How to get there:
Take Subway Line One (the Nanyan Line) and get off at Nanjing South Railway Station, then leave the subway station by Exit 1.
