Description

Just north of Victoria's town centre, La Bastille was built by one Ange Pillieron after the design of Alfredo Leit.

After passing out of the Pillieron family, it was in 1973 occupied by Survey Division followed by the Ministry of Education in 1975. From 1981 to the mid-1990's it was home to the National Archives. Today, La Bastille fittingly houses the National heritage division of the Ministry of The Arts, Culture and Sports.
