The Seychelles Islands have a very low rate of crime. However, in an unfamiliar environment, it is advisable to take reasonable precautions to be safe. Always stay alert, and avoid walking alone on isolated beaches. Swimming alone is also dangerous.

Like in most places, it is not advisable to carry large sums of cash or expensive valuable personal items with you. It is possible to attract unwanted attention with these things on your person. Never leave large sums of cash or valuable personal items in your room or anywhere else.

Be extremely careful and conscientious of your surroundings. Your accomodation facilities often have personal safety options such as safes. It is advisable to ask about such things when you first book your trip to the Seychelles.

While many people from all over the world consider the Seychelles Islands to be a paradise on earth, and though the crime rate is low in the Seychelles, visitors must always take reasonable precautions to ensure their personal safety, and the security of the items they bring with them or purchase to take home.

By learning of your hotel's security provisions before hand, and by knowing what documentation you need to bring when you arrive in the Seychelles, you can go a long way towards ensuring your holiday in the Seychelles is a safe and delightful one.
