Hangar Bicocca–Via Chiese, 2 – 20126 Milan
Hangar Bicocca was founded in 2004 by the reconversion of a large industrial plant owned by Ansaldo-Breda in the space dedicated to the most varied visual and performing disciplines of art.
The desire to make Hangar Bicocca a cultural institution recognized by the public and by the Italian and international art community, led to the establishment of the Foundation Hangar Bicocca in 2008, whose founding members are Pirelli & C., the Lombardy Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan.
The restructuring process started in 2012 and it has made available to the public new spaces and services, and a multipurpose area as a screening room for the realization of individual exhibitions in collaboration with the MIC (Interactive Museum of Cinema), housed in the new headquarters of the Italian Film Archive Foundation at the ex-tobacco factory.
