PALAZZO REALE - MILAN

Giotto, Italy. From Assisi to Milano – from September 2, 2015 to January 10, 2016.

This major international exhibition, produced on the occasion of Expo 2015, is intended as a tribute to one of the greatest Italian artists of all time. It analyzes Giotto’s life as the father of modern painting, following the growth of his artistry and painting through his stops in Rome, Assisi, Bologna, Firenze, Rimini, Padova and finally Milano.

Giotto arrived in Milano almost at the end of his life, called by Duke Azzone Visconti to work on a fresco cycle in the Palazzo Ducale on the subject of “Mundane Glory” and perhaps on a series “Illustrious men”, both unfortunately lost.

Thanks to loans from Italian and international museums, the Giotto exhibition in Milano qualifies as a unique opportunity to learn about and admire the works of a true master of Italian art. to Leonardo da Vinci.
