Myth and Nature. From Greece to Pompei – from July 31, 2015 to January 10, 2016

Starting in the months of Expo 2015, the exhibition “Mith and Nature. From Greece to Pompei” presents, through a selection of more than 200 masterpieces from antiquity, a particular and not so well-known feature of the classical world: the representation of nature in its different aspects and man’s action on natural reality and the environment.

The exhibits come from Italian and international museums, including the Athens Archeological Museum, Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum, London’s British Museum and the Louvre in Paris.

The exhibition is directly relevant to Expo 2015’s themes and reflects on the ever-actual problem of a peaceful relationship between man and the natural world. It also presents the link leading to the European artistic idea of landscape during the Renaissance, from Giotto to Leonardo da Vinci.
