【Introduction】:Whether in town for leisure or business, Macao s wide array of events for January – covering all manner of topics and interests – will keep visitors busy and entertained!
New Year, new things to do! Macao is chock-full of activities during the whole of January, ready to embrace 2018 with a blast of creative energy.
One of this month's highlights is the Macao City Fringe Festival (Jan 12th-21st). With its eccentric arts programme, there is no shortage of things to see and do during the Fringe, courtesy of a wide array of local troupes and overseas artists.
January also brings music, and lots of it. The Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra Association is kicking off 2018 with a New Year's Concert (Jan 1st), while the Macao Chinese Orchestra is performing a 2018 Spring Concert (Jan 20th) to usher in the Chinese New Year.
Elsewhere, in the packed roster of classical music events, there is also space to promote local talent. The Macao Orchestra is inviting two winners of the Macao Young Musicians Competition for 2017, to perform in the Flourishing Artsconcert (Jan 12th).
January is the last chance to visit the Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists (until Jan 2nd). Visitors should be enchanted by the quality of the artworks on display, ranging from painting in the traditional Chinese manner, to Chinese calligraphy.
Culture and heritage lovers should not miss the Sinulog Festival (Jan 21st), a traditional religious festival originating in the Philippines that has made its way to Macao.
In January, Macao also welcomes the Alan Tam 40th Anniversary Concert Tour 2018 (Jan 20th) and an eagerly-awaited performance from Cantopop stars Frances Yip, Elisa Chan and Maria Cordero in The 3 Divas Concert in Macao 2018 (Jan 6th).
Whether in town for leisure or business, Macao's wide array of events for January – covering all manner of topics and interests – will keep visitors busy and entertained!
