The 26th ASSITEJ Korea International Summer Festival

Since the summer of 1993, ASSITEJ Korea has organized one of the largest theatre festivals for children and young people in Korea. The Summer Festival is mainly supported by the Arts Council Korea every year and is one of the highly recognized festivals to receive such funding from the Council regularly. It is presented at prestigious venues in Korea such as Sejong Center, Seoul Arts Center, Daehakro Arts Theatre and ARKO Arts Theatre. Everybody could take pleasure in this Summer Festival regardless of age and nationality. It has also served as a platform where various international artists and producers can meet to build networks and collaborations.

Focusing on a country

Since 2010, the Summer Festival has highlighted one particular country, which was Russia, Australia, Israel or Germany, in order to encourage Korean children to understand a different culture and to learn the cultural knowledge through theatre. This year, the 26th ASSITEJ Korea International Summer Festival focuses on Canada.
