Prague Fringe

The Fringe Festival introduces a mixture of theatre, comedy, music and entertainment at venues across the Malá Strana district of Prague. Actors from all over the world come to Prague to showcase their art in small Prague theatres. Since 2001 the Prague Fringe Festival offers an opportunity for Czech and international audiences to see English-speaking performances directly in the historic centre of the city. The original festival was created in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947 and to this day remains the largest art festival in the world. Its Prague “mischievous grandchild” is known amongst the performers and audiences for its friendly, happy and intimate atmosphere.
