Miaofengshan Road

Miaofengshan Road is about 20.4 km long, located in the east of Mentougou District of Beijing. There are numerous kinds of flowers nearthe road during spring and summer. This is the perfect road for self-drive or bike-riding. This road is also the route of Tour of Beijing, an important international cycle race.

Miaofengshan Road is named after Miaofeng Mountain. Miaofeng Mountain, about 70 kilometers away from downtown Beijing, features sheer cliffs, jutting crags, and tortuous mountain paths that makes it one of the most renowned scenic spots in Northern China.

Luanchi Road

Luanchi Road is about 51.1 km long. There are many bridges and culverts along the road. You can ride a bike and look at the flowers during spring or summer.

Luanchi Road isa part of the One-Hundred-Li Landscape Corridor. Located in Qianjiadian Town, northeast of Yanqing, covering an area of 371 square kilometers, 40 miles apart from the county, and 110 miles away from the downtown, One-Hundred-Li Landscape Corridor belongs to the core area of Ecological Relax Area in Yanqing. Located in the east of Huairou District, north of ChichengHebei, it connects Xiangying, Liubinpu, and Zhenzhuquan, three counties respectively in the southwest and southeast. Through by Luanchi, Huaqian, and Huasha highways, with convenient transportation, it was awarded the top spot of the Ten Best Self-Driving Tour Lines in 2007. On September 17, 2010, it became the first large national 4A level scenic spot that achieved “The Unity of Town and Landscape” that covers the whole town area in Beijing approved by the National Tourism Administration and National Tourism Scenic Area Quality Grade Evaluation Committee.

Liushi Road

Liushi Road is about 26 km long. It connects many tourist attractions in Fangshan District, including Xiayunling and Shidu.

Xiayunling means Xiayunling National Forest Park. It is located in the southwest of Beijing, 76 kilometers from the urban area. National highway 108 directly goes through the forest park. On December, 2005, with the approval of the State Forestry Administration, Xiayunling National Forest Park was established. The park is a tourist attraction that integrates relaxation, holidays, leisure, and health promotion.

The park covers an area of 218 square kilometers, which stretches 15 kilometer from south to north and 40 kilometers from east to west. It boasts an abundance of natural scenery resources, with the forest coverage rate of over 72.53%. The park features moderate climate, beautiful environment, and peculiar landscape. Xiayunling National Forest Park is the only tourist attraction in Beijing where tourists can reach the 2,000-meter-tall mountaintop by car.

The Shidu Scenic area is near Zhangfang Town in Fangshan District. It is only about 80 kilometers or 50 miles from Beijing’s central area. Walking around among the steeply rising valley walls, you can see a lot of memorials and war relics.For those who have been to Guilin or Yangshuo and seen the karst formations there, Shidu has similar eroded limestone hills and rock formations. So it is sometimes called the “Guilin of the North.” Unlike Yangshuo, this area has memorial sites and battlefield remains. Bungee jumping and rock climbing are two things you can do in the park. It has a 48-meter high jumping platform and a 55-meter high jumping platform. You can walk around and see all the different paintings, inscriptions, memorials, and signs.

Three waterfalls and eighteen pools, with unique characteristics, are scattered along the serpentine watercourse, creating changing scenes as the visitors progress along the valley.

It is also the key area of Beijing’s nature reserve networks.

It is also rich in water with murmuring streams and pollution-free quality spring water where the water level is from 900 meters to 2000 meters.
