There's always a good supply of drinking water when you are on the go in Zurich – thanks to the numerous fountains.

In Zurich, there is no need to look for a supermarket if you get thirsty, since you can simply quench your thirst at the nearest fountain. And that can never be far away, because Zurich has the most fountains of any city in the world with approx. 1,200 drinking water fountains.

Many of the fountains are small-scale works of art with a fascinating history. There are guided tours to Zurich's fountains at 6.00pm on the first Wednesday of the month from July to October.
