The Sichuan variety of Chinese Opera combines several operatic forms such as Kun, Gao, Beijing Opera, along with a number of localized operatic stylings including that of the very popular Sichuan “Festive Lantern Opera”. The opera troupe of Shufeng Yayun effortlessly combine and perform the age-old “telling and singing arts” reflective of teahouse culture, and Taoism to present the finest of Sichuan style Opera to mesmerized audiences night after night.

Huqin Solo Huqin a uniquely Chinese stringed instrument, being quite varied from the Erhu, Gaohu, Banhu, Jinghu amongst other similar forms, is masterfully used to present not only sadness, and mournfulness but also magnificence and splendor.

Changing Faces and Fire Spitting arguably the top rated performance of Sichuan Opera. Actors changing faces and others who spitting fire, have become the unparalleled, and very distinguishable feats of the Sichuan Opera brand. With the skill, and speed of a magician performers change faces in the twinkling of an eye while others add spectacular fire-spitting to the stage, signifying drastic changes in character, story line, and representing internal tension.
