Tianjin Museum

The predecessor of Tianjin Museum is built in 1918. Although the newly built Tianjin Museum is not in an ancient style any more, it is still the major site to inherit the local history and culture.

There are total four floors of the museum. The first floor is the hall of “The origin of culture of Tianjin”, second floor is the hall of cultural relics exhibition, third floor is the hall of “Century history of China in Tianjin” and the fourth floor is the hall of painting and calligraphy exhibition. In the museum, visitors can learn about the entire history and local culture of Tianjin. And the visit will not be made in vain with those treasure collection of cultural relics.

Covering an open and wide area, the museum is a three floor building with different display area of permanent display area, temporary display area, experience and entertainment area and science popularization education area.

There is an old saying of Tianjin that Tianhou Temple first and Tianjin City after. The museum is located in one of the Three Tianhou Temples of China, which is also the oldest existing architecture of Tianjin. Tianhou Temple is the place where people enshrine and worship the Queen of the Heaven, commonly known as “Niangniang Temple”.

Statues in Main Hall and Front Hall of the temple had been restored for display. Besides, there are also more than 2,000 pieces of folk relics collected from folk and displayed separately in four Side Halls, Depositarry of Buddhist Texts and Zhangxian Pavilion.

Tianjin China Shoes Museum

The museum is built by Laomeihua Industry, covering an area of more than 800 sq.m. There are total 6 areas with 56 themes equipped including history of shoes, folk customs of shoes and shows show, etc. Both ancient relics and imitations are displayed here.

Emperors’ shoes, Yu’s stone shoe, drawer shoe with spice and cheating shoes, etc, over 1,000 all sorts of strange shoes in different shapes here will bring you into a “World of Shoes”.
