Registration for the highly anticipated Guilin public transport card---Guilin E-Card has begun, and each card holder can now use the card on the 42 public bus lines of the city. In addition, if Guilin people hold this card, they can take a taxi, a coach bus, or the subway...in 156 Chinese cities where the E-Card program is in effect. Guilin people’s wonderful life of traveling around China with one card is going to happen. The reporter now tells you everything about the Guilin E-Card.

What does the Guilin E-Card look like?

At present, lots of Chinese cities already have their own convenient transport payment tools, such as Hong Kong’s Octopus Card, Guangzhou’s Yang Cheng Tong Card, and Nanning’s e-card. When the locals take their city’s public buses or rail transit, they can use their card to swipe. This is highly desirable.

However, Guilin people finally have their own e-card----Guilin E-Card, which is the abbreviation of Guilin Transport E-Card. Under the guidance of the People’s Government of Guilin, this card is now open to the Guilin citizens and tourists to apply for. It will be an important method for the locals and tourists to travel around the city or enjoy the public service of the government and deal with individual persons’ public affairs.

The Guilin E-Card that draws so much attention has finally come out. It was already mentioned in this year’s Guilin’s Report on the Work of the Government and the transport planning of the 13th Five-Year Plan. Guilin must work with full energy to accomplish the construction of the E-Card, and hopefully issue the card at the end of the year.

Reporters have learned from Guilin Transport E-Card Company that the channels for applying for the Guilin E-Card have already opened, and the card is now being tested on many buses of the city bus lines.

While observing the cards that some of the citizens have already received, the current Guilin E-Card is an average card that requires name registration. The card has attractive images printed on both sides, with one side for the district, and the other for the city, and “Guimin Card” or “Guilin Tong” are written on them. The beautiful views shown on the cards are taken from the stunning beautiful scenic spots of Lijiang River----Xingping Wonderland and Elephant Trunk Hill, which is the emblem hill of Guilin and the symbol of Guilin travel. It looks like a huge elephant, standing on the intersection between Lijiang River and Peach Flower River. The scenery of Xingping, Lijiang River is the place from which China’s 20 RMB note takes for its reverse side’s image. The appearance of the Guilin E-Card overwhelming conveys the Guilin style.

Passengers can now swipe their cards on the buses of the city’s 42 bus lines.

It is understood that most of Guilin’s buses were busy installing the QR Code Card-Swiping Machine, and this is the preparation for using the Guilin E-Card.

Yesterday, when a reporter got on one bus of Bus No. 1, and put the Guilin E-Card on the “Swiping Zone” for response, the sound of “Di” appeared, and this means it automatically charged. It was really fast. According to Guilin Public Transport, now passengers who use the card to take the bus can enjoy a discount of 10%.

It is understood that now passengers can use the card to take the following 42 bus lines: Bus No. 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 18, 22, 25, 28, 30, 32, 33, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 81, 83, 85, 86, 88, 89, 91, 99, 100, 201, 202, 203, 205, 208, 209, 211, 213, 217, 501, Xicheng Hospital Special Line, and other bus lines will gradually join the E-Card program.

In addition to taking the bus, the cards that the citizens now hold will also receive more functions. For example, each card holder can park their car in the parking lot by swiping their card. The parking lots that join this program include the parking lots near the railway stations, Dingfu Edifice’s cubic parking lot and other large parking lots of the city; Yangshuo Park parking lot is also part of the program. The Top Three Hub Stations’ Parking Lots are going to be built in Yangshuo, and Yangshuo scenic spot parking lot is also available. Passengers who hold the Guilin E-Card can also swipe it when taking a taxi. It is quite convenient.

After debugging, the Guilin E-Card can also be used for holders to ride bikes on the green expressway by swiping their card. Travel on the highway between Guiling and Yangshuo is now faster due to the combined usage of ETC and the E-Card.
