One of the internationally acclaimed destinations, Niagara Falls, or the Honeymoon Capital of the World is getting ready to embrace as many as two million tourists this holiday season to view the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights.

This marks the 35th year for Canada's most celebrated festival that transforms Niagara Falls into a wide array of hues thanks to its numerous sparkling lights and animated displays based within the Niagara Parks, Dufferin Islands and the surrounding tourist districts.

The illuminations comprise 15 Canadian wildlife displays, the Sylma and over 50 trees wrapped in lights on Dufferin Islands, the world's largest Canadian-American flag, the light show on the Toronto Power Generation Station, the two-storey takk Zimmerman Fountain, the three-dimensional angels at the Niagara Parks Police Building and a visitor favorite – Noah's Ark.

Last year there were more than 1.3 million visitors to the festival of lights and 80% had come from out of town.

The total economic impact of the festival last year was $48.8 million.
