On August 20, Beijing International Design Week Committee, Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks, Cultural Counselor of the Dutch Embassy in China and etc came to Beijing Garden Expo, investigating matters concerning rubber duck’s settling in Garden Expo. The delegates mentioned after the investigations that rubber duck is a contemporary art that exhibits around the world. There are two conditions for its location: first, its location should be classic and a representative of Beijing’s urban landscape; second, as an art that is open to a large number of visitors, there should be a wide water area and wide visiting area on the banks at its location, which makes it convenient to guarantee the safety of visitors and a well-maintained management. It was found that Garden Expo has collected many garden works from both home and abroad with a beautiful landscape and unique design, which can be a representative urban landscape of Beijing. Lake of Garden Expo covers about 246 hectares, which is large enough to settle rubber duck. In addition, since the opening of Garden Expo, it has been operated smoothly with an orderly management. Therefore, Garden Expo is the best place to settle rubber duck.

Garden Expo and Design Week, the Innovative Design Elements

As a parallel session of 2013 Beijing International Design Week, Beijing Garden Expo has always been devoted to the belief “turn the foul and rotten into the rare and ethereal” and displays a diversified ecological culture with an excellent design skill. Beijing Garden Expo has been an indispensable power to make Beijing a city of design and wisdom.
