The Colosseum at Caesars Palace reopened this month following the addition of major technical and design enhancements over the summer.
A new sound system, moving light fixtures and a high-definition LED video wall were unveiled. Seats, none more than 145 feet from the stage, were refurbished. An automated lift seating system was installed to better accommodate multiple configurations.
VIP banquette seating with cocktail service is now available, and the lobby bar was expanded to enable faster service. Merchandise areas were moved to better accommodate the flow of guests into the theater.
Those attending Keith Urban's two sold-out shows Sept. 6 and 7 were the first to see the renovations. The performances marked the first use of new general admission space on the main floor, built to create a high-energy dynamic between fans and entertainers.
Nicknamed "The House that Celine Built," the 4,470-seat Colosseum opened in 2003 for Celine Dion's residency. It has also housed residencies of Elton John, Bette Midler, Rod Stewart and Cher, among many others.
The venue's upcoming musical highlights include Journey (October and December); Guns N' Roses (Nov. 1 and 2); Madonna (Nov. 7, 9 and 10); Mariah Carey (November and February); Van Morrison (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 2, 7 and 8); and Sting (May, June and August).
