AmaWaterways will offer 67 specialty wine cruises next year, including two new itineraries showcasing the vineyards and historic sights of France, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The wine-themed sailings offer guests onboard lectures and tastings to complement included shore excursions.

The new sailings for 2020 are both seven-day itineraries, the Treasures of the Main & Rhine and Vineyards of the Rhine & Moselle.

The first sails between Nuremberg, Germany, and Amsterdam, including a visit to Wurzburg, in the middle of Germany's largest wine-producing region. The second cruise runs between Luxembourg and Amsterdam with a winery visit in Bernkastel.

The wine cruises are hosted by North American wine experts, certified sommeliers and vineyard owners. Experts on the new 2020 sailings include Susanne Sapier, owner of Vineyard Grant James; Dan McDonnal and Alix Bosch, co-owners of De Tierra Vineyards; and Cindy and Nicholas Palumbo, co-owners of Palumbo Family Vineyards.

Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways' executive vice president and cofounder said: "As demand for these sailings grows, our focus is to partner with engaging hosts and craft new wine-themed experiences that encourage our guests to discover the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the world."
