【Introduction】:As of 24:00 on May 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,681 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,505 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital.
As of 24:00 on May 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,681 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,505 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 176 confirmed cases (including 4 in serious condition) and 8 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on May 8, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,887 confirmed cases and 4,633 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,046 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 208 confirmed cases (including 15 in serious condition) and 8 suspected cases. So far, 736,372 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 5,859 are now under medical observation.
On May 8, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (all are indigenous cases). 33 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on May 8, 836 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 63 imported cases).
