Tourism Fiji participated in the Suzhou International Tourism Expo from 6th to 8th of November 2020, winning the prestigious award for 2020 Best Marketing Organisation of Overseas National Tourist Office.
As a well-known international tourist destination along with the Yangtze River Delta, Suzhou has become one of the important source markets for international destinations. It has also gradually increased its professionalism in the travel trade and tourism exhibition attracting worldwide high-quality tourism destinations, service providers, and suppliers with potential business opportunities.
Tourism Fiji participated in Suzhou International Tourism Expo for the first year and won this high-recognition award. This year, the trade show was designed to help the industry recover from the economic post-COVID19 fallout, by providing a unique opportunity for industry professionals to get updates on the latest trending insights relating to the “new normal” and help them to meet and connect in-person.
The ‘2020 Best Marketing Organisation of Overseas National Tourist Office' Award recognises Tourism Fiji's efforts as leading Overseas National Tourist Office for its effective promotion and marketing campaigns in the market against Covid-19.
“We are honored to be recognised amidst a slate of strong and reputable destination marketers.” said Mr. Matthew Stoeckel, Tourism Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, “China is Fiji’s fourth-largest market, and it is without a doubt an important market for Fiji. To date, it is the fourth award our China team has got in 2020. We are fortunate to have an exceptionally experienced and capable team in China to lead our recovery in the market when the time is right to travel to Fiji once again.”
Tourism Fiji has made immediate actions and communications at the beginning of 2020 since COVID-19 occurred. Since March, Tourism Fiji has developed and launched a series of promotional campaigns such as Bulanaires; to celebrate those who are rich in happiness and look to share that happiness with others under the shadow of the global pandemic. The early bird promotion “Buy now and experience later”, working with largest OTA in Asia- Trip.com to promote Fiji through innovative marketing campaigns including live-stream early bird campaign and integrated presale marketing campaign to not only maintain the brand awareness but also stimulate the sales for Fijian tourism industry partners.
At the same time, Tourism Fiji also implemented its Four Stage Market Re-entry campaign where currently the destination is in Stage Two with its core message being “Our Bula Spirit Awaits You” which continues to rebuild consumer confidence and anticipation of a holiday to Fiji.
Tourism Fiji Regional Manager in Greater China, Mr. Vincent Zheng said, “We are humbled to receive this recognition. Our Fijian tourism industry has been through the very challenging year of 2020.
