【Introduction】:Tourism Fiji won another prestigious industry award of 2020 Best Showcase Organization of Overseas National Tourist Office’ on CHINA-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition at Guilin, Guangxi on 9 December.
Tourism Fiji won another prestigious industry award of '2020 Best Showcase Organization of Overseas National Tourist Office’ on CHINA-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition at Guilin, Guangxi on 9 December. It is a recognition of the business, individual and the destination for their commitment to excellence of achievements and innovation to raise their profile among the industry and consumers during the challenging year of 2020.
CHINA-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition is sponsored by the China National Tourism Administration and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. It has been implementing the initiatives for deepening the China-ASEAN cooperation, construct the 21st Century “Maritime Silk Road” together, and build an upgraded China-ASEAN Expo to promote international and regional tourism cooperation. The 2020 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition is the 15th exhibition in a row and it attracts over 72 exhibitors including domestic provinces and overseas National Tourist Offices as well as more than 300 professional buyers.
Tourism Fiji's CEO Mr. Matthew Stoeckel said: “2020 has been a challenging year and our team in China has truly innovated to develop campaigns and activities to navigate our way through the global pandemic. So it’s great our China Team have been recognized through their efforts in the market with this industry award at the CHINA-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition. We’re committed to working with trade and industry partners to rebuild the China market and looking forward to welcoming Chinese travellers back when the time is right.”
As part of Tourism Fiji’s market re-entry plan, Tourism Fiji has launched Care Fiji Commitment which is a programme designed to reassure travellers that Fiji is a safe destination to visit on their next holiday and in turn asks potential visitors to share in the responsibility to keep Fiji safe when holidaying here. It is developed in consultation with stakeholders from the tourism industry through the Tourism Recovery Team and endorsed by the COVID Risk Mitigation Taskforce.
Tourism Fiji Regional Manager in Greater China, Mr. Vincent Zheng said: “We’re humble to receive the recognition. In fact, we’ve been adapting and evolving our strategy and initiatives in the market in order to cope with the changing situations that are caused by Covid-19. So far, we’ve got a lot of positive feedbacks from trade, media, and industry partners. We really look forward to working with our partners for market re-entry and restoration of the tourism industry when the time is right. ”
