Miao Year

Time: September to January in Chinese lunar calendar

Miao Year is the traditional festival of Miao. Three fireworks will be set in the morning that day to show the festivity. During the festival, people visit relatives and friends to congratulate each other. Then, young men play the Lusheng loud and clear. Girls dress in festive costumes, wearing dragon-phoenix silver horn, silver hairpin, silver comb, and dance following the beats of Lusheng. The time of Miao Year is different for various places, and basically it’s after the end of autumn harvest.
