Boluodan Temple Fair

Boluodan Temple Fair, the birthday of South Sea God, is one of the largest folk traditional temple fairs with a history of 1,000 years. During the temple fair, the areas, which are miles away around the South Sea God Temple (Boluo Temple), both on land and water, are bustling presents the scene of the festival.

During the fair, all streets are packed with people who come for blessings, sightseeing, and shopping. The temple is full of boisterous crowds, with smoke swirling and fireworks roaring, which can be described as more lively than the Spring Festivals. Therefore, local folklore has it that “the first pleasure is to travel to Boluo and the second is to take a wife.”
