A festival held on both sides of the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap River, which lasts for three days. The Mekong River rises in the rainy season, and irrigates and brings silt to the farmlands; the water lever falls in summer, and what is left is an area waiting to harvest rice and fish. Therefore, people hold this water festival to expressed their gratitude and farewell to the rivers which bring them benefits, and also hope the Mekong River can take away their diseases and disasters. During the festival, a dragon boat race will be held in the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap Lake. As night falls, a lamp-boat parade and a moon-worshiping ceremony will begin.
