Busan Polar Bear Swimming Contest

The purpose of hosting the Polar Bear Swimming Contest is to let the contestants also experience the jump into the sea of cold temperature in the winter, like the polar bears like to swim in the Arctic sea, a world of ice and snow. It is an event which provides participants with Health Beauty and at the same time leaves a real impression of chilliness. Likewise, it lets the tourists have one more interesting thing to see in the winter coast.

To commemorate the Seoul Olympic Games in 1988, Westin North Korean Restaurant was also involved in co-sponsoring the first Polar Bear Swimming Contest. From the beginning,when more than 100 people participated in the event to 20 years later, it is welcomed by the general public to participate in the competition. Even the number of people climbed to more than 2,000 that becomes the healthy winter activity of Korean large scale.
