The San Francisco International Beer Festival (SFIBF) was created in 1984 by parents at the Telegraph Hill Cooperative Nursery School, the oldest co-op (or in other words: parent-run) preschool in the city.

SFIBF allows the co-op to keep tuition very reasonable, effectively helping families afford to stay in an increasingly expensive city. The money raised at the festival funds 90% of the costs associated with the teaching and learning programs at the preschool for an entire year.

It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s a great bonding experience for their community and a fun time for all.

More than 300 kinds of well-selected beer samples will be provided in this festival, some are from the famous and professional beer breweries while others are from popular restaurants in San Francisco. Of course the premise is that the participants must be aged over 21.
