Free Wi-Fi to be Available in Main Public Areas of Sanya at the End of 2016

Sanya plans to set up 7,000 to 9,000 wireless hotspots by the end of 2016, making free Wi-Fi available in main public areas of the city.

By the end of March, about 2,000 wireless hotspots have been set up in Sanya City, and free Wi-Fi has become available in some key public areas of the city, including government halls, the municipal government office building, public beaches, places for cultural and sports activities, tourism consultation and service centers, hospitals, Yalong Bay Undersea World and other scenic spots. 212,924 people have registered on the website of “i-Sanya”, and March witnessed a daily average of 8,579 people signing in.

Besides, Sanya will make reforms on Wi-Fi built by operators and business people by realizing uniform identification and certification, with a view to enhance travelers’ use experience.

According to relevant directors of Sanya Tourism Board, this year, Sanya will comprehensively improve network regulation mechanism of the tourism market, promote the construction of smart tourism databases and management service platforms, and make tourism management service more intellectualized.
