Busan City plans to transform the top of Hwangnyeongsan mountain with colorful lights for night time enjoyment. The Hwangnyeongsan mountain covering Nam-gu, Suyeong-gu, Yeonje-gu and Busanjin-gu areas has great observation points for viewing the whole city.
The 100 meter high broadcast transmission tower at Hwangnyeongsan mountain will be illuminated with 116 high efficiency LED lights. The lights will show off multiple colors that are attributed to the different seasons and day time hours via a lighting controller.
For this project, the city passed their plans through the landscape committee and started brainstorming designs as early as last June. The construction of the project will start in December and is scheduled to be completed in April 2017.
Along with the night illumination of Gwangandaegyo bridge, it is expected to become a new night attraction in the city.
According to the Busan Metropolitan City Night Illumination Project established in 2015, Busan City completed the illumination of the Seokdang Museum at Dong-A University in March 2016 and will continuously work to improve the City’s landscape lighting until 2020. The project will help to make Busan a brighter and more vibrant city to attract tourists.
