You can exchange currency in some big banks and the train station, such as UBS, Credit Suisse, ZKB or Raiffeisen Bank and so on; the exchange rates between the major currencies are similar. Due to the substantial depreciation of Euros in a short period of time some time ago caused the unprecedented increase of Swiss franc. It affected the domestic economy, so now the Euro exchange rate against Swiss franc is regulated to fall between 1.2-1.25. The loss of holding the Euro and Swiss franc exchange rate at hand seems to be the least at present. In some cities, banks may open until 6pm. All banks are closed at weekends and public holidays. Generally the banks that set up in the airport, wharf or the banks of the main railway stations will be open later.
