Dam Square

Dam Square, located in the center of Amsterdam, is the most important transportation junction. Most touring buses in the city start off from here. The Royal Palace, the NieuweKerk (New Church) and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum are all in this square. The National Monument was placed in the center of the square as a memorial for the victims of World War II. Dam Square is the liveliest square in Amsterdam and also most popular area for parades and celebrations. During all important national festivals, big carnivals will be held here. Also, many street performers can be found here every day.

Traffic route: Take Tram No. 4, 9, 16, 24. 25 or Bus No. 355, 357, 359. 361, 363 and get off at Dam Station.
