Yulong River

Yulong River is 16 km long. The clear and slowly-flowing river is also a place where some of the County's historic and cultural sites are located. Second only to Lijiang River in both size and fame, Yulong River is also called Little Lijiang River and it takes about a 30-minute drive from here to West Street in Yangshuo.

Unlike the rafting on Lijiang River, the rafting here is powered by men. One raft can only take 2 people. 28 dams were built on the river for local people to cross the river, and this also adds fun to the rafting.

The main attractions include: Rhinoceros Pond, Five Finger Mountain, Chaoyang Village, Xiangui Bridge, Yulong Bridge, Guiyi Ancient Town Ruins, Tombs of Han Dynasty, Dongyun Rock, Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, etc. Totally around 20 attractions.

Morning is better for rafting, because of fewer tourists. Landscapes reflect clearly on the river, which makes you enjoy the quietness. Fuli Bridge of Ming Dynasty is the best place for taking photographs of Lijiang River.

Transportation

Yangshuo - Yulong River Upper Reaches Dock: take Yangshuo - Jinbao coach at Yangshuo bus terminal and get off at Jinlong Bridge, or charter a car or bicycle to get there. Gongnong Bridge Dock - Yangshuo: ride a bicycle or take a coach from Gaotian to Yangshuo; walk back to Yangshuo will take about one hour.

Yulong River tickets: take reference from the information of above rafting segments; the rafting at Xiatang Dock and Shuiedi Dock is leisure rafting, about 75 yuan for a return. (Note: the above prices are for reference only)

Opening Hours: 8:00-18:00 (normally you can arrange time with the raftsman, and the raftsman will not work after dark)

Tour Time: about 3 hours in total
