West Street

In Yangshuo, what you can’t miss is the West Street. Having a history of more than 1400 years, the West Street is the oldest and most bustling street in Yangshuo, and also one of the most important tourist attractions of Yangshuo.

But in fact, strictly speaking it should not be regarded as a scenic spot. It features many key words like dining, shopping, and clubbing. Because the West Street is rich and colorful, it has become a unique and beautiful scenery in Yangshuo.

The street is less than 1 km, built with slates, in a bending S-shape. The houses on both sides are simple and elegant, and have the North Guangxi style in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Small grey tiles, sloping roof, white walls, and hanging balcony. The street is full of all kinds of tourist souvenirs. Hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bars on both sides are the combination of Chinese and western, and almost all signs are bilingual. Even the staff in a small hotel can talk to foreign tourists fluently in foreign languages. This is slightly better than three-star hotels in some places.

Tourists walk leisurely in the street, and young people in different colors ride bicycles and carry backpacks in and out of streets and alleys. There are a variety of shops and snacks in West Street. Walnut peanut paste and osmanthus lotus soup are very famous. In addition to special snacks, there are many bars with many foreigners. West Street is livelier at night than during the day. If you get accommodation here, it may be relatively noisy.
